Wendy Miles
Wendy Miles is a sculptor and land artist living and working in West Cork. Her work is project led, her sculptures usually embedded into or emerging from the surrounding landscape. Using mainly found and natural materials, but sometimes making more permanent work using cement with found materials, her work is exhibited primarily on sculpture trails and in outdoor installations throughout Ireland.
David Seeger
I came to live near Skibbereen in 1990 , having taken early retirement from a Senior Lectureship teaching for 24 years in the renowned Fine Art course at Leeds Polytechnic. West Cork is beautiful but not quite up to the Yorkshire Dales where my roots are, but I can afford to live here. I am an Irish Citizen since 2020. 1n 2017 I showed a retrospective collection of sculptures, paintings and pottery made since I was a student in 1962, “80- Moving Still”. To go with that show, I published a book of the same title, of images and texts to say something about what I have been doing and why.
Recently during 2022 , I have been converting sculptures I made in the 1980’s, from patinated patternmakers plaster into Bronze, with the help of Bronze Art Foundry in Dublin.
Here in West Cork , as it says on my visiting card, I continue to carry on being “student of everything”, and hopefully reflecting something of what I discover in new work.

Nuala Mahon
Nuala is a fine art photographer working mainly, but not exclusively, on environmental issues. She uses alternative photographic technologies whenever possible. “In the darkroom I built on my experience as a chemist to develop these negative pinhole images. I collected seaweed on the beaches where the images were made and produced my own developer solutions. I fixed the images in salt solution.”

Mark Boyden
is an Ecologist / Artist working with water, wilderness, people, wood and words. He created the ‘Streamscapes‘ community engagement project, see http://streamscapes.ie/ and has left installations scattered around the globe.

John Muir
I am a maker, sculptor, activist and gardener based in Kinsale. An avid and curious edge dweller I find great inspiration in mud-larking and hedgerow foraging. Art residencies whilst crewing on two sailing vessels during the summer of 2022 informs much of my recent work. Engaging with ecological observation, systems restoration and community events is a vital part of my life. I seek threads of connectivity and explore the aspects of fluid and changing interfaces and landscapes through my art practice.

I live in Bantry, West Cork, remote, beautiful, and inspiring. I grew up by the sea surrounded by wildlife, curlew, crow, woods and freedom and I want my work to resonate this. To offer a connection with bird, animal, place, or emotion.
Aisling Roche
Aisling Roche is an Irish Artist who graduated from Cardiff Metropolitan University in 1990 with a Master’s Degree in Ceramics. Aisling was born in Dublin and now lives and works in Spain, Baltimore, West Cork. She works predominantly in Ceramics, Paint and Photography. Aisling’s work is inspired by the sea in particular Lough Hyne, where she swims regularly. Her objective is to give the viewer an appreciation of the ocean whilst also considering the fragility of the ocean’s eco system.
Aisling’s work is held in many public collections including St Vincent Hospital, Dublin, Wigan and Leigh borough council, Greater Manchester, Radionics Dublin and Pfizers Cork and in private collections nationally as well as in America, the UK, France, Germany, Spain and Australia. Aisling has received corporate client awards and public awards and her work has been supported by the Arts Council /An Chomhairle Ealaíon, The National Sculpture Factory, Cork and Uillinn, West Cork Arts Centre.

Sylwia Migdal
Sylwia Migdal is a West Cork-based multidisciplinary artist, researcher and educator. She primarily creates sound installations. She incorporates sound art, technology and science. Her research is inspired by Hydrofeminism strategies that support deep speculation and imaging of our shared, non-human climate.
“Being able to listen to how things are changing provides a different perspective and is rich in potential for extended listening from year to year. It has also become a tool for outreach and communication at the intersection of art and science.”
